Clipper blade sharpening
Blunt blades pull coat, heat up and leave lines. We hone the cutter and comb flat on a precision hone, re-set the tension and test-cut every blade before it leaves.
What happens on the bench.

Strip and clean
We split the cutter from the comb, degrease and remove all hair, oil and rust spots.

Inspect
Teeth checked under magnification. Cracked or missing teeth are flagged and not charged.

Hone flat
Both faces honed flat on a magnetic hone, coarse then fine, so the cutter and comb meet across their full width.

Re-set tension
Spring tension and rail alignment re-set so the blade cuts without riding up or running hot.

Test-cut and oil
Cut-tested on wet and dry media, oiled, sleeved and labelled with your order number.

Good to know
Can you sharpen ceramic blades?
Yes, ceramic cutters on steel combs. Fully ceramic blades are inspected first; if one is chipped we tell you rather than charge.
Which brands do you take?
All the main ones: Andis, Oster, Wahl, Heiniger, Aesculap, Laube, Moser and own-brand blades. If it clips onto a standard A5 or similar drive, we can do it.
Do you replace springs?
Worn springs are swapped at no extra charge when we have the part. We'll tell you on the check-in note.
How many times can a blade be sharpened?
Usually 8–12 times, depending on how much metal comes off. We take the minimum needed.
